Our Peer mentoring program, at Hemlington Hall Academy, is about providing guidance for the children from the children. Through this special relationship, peer mentors provide advice and support and serve as role models for younger and older people who need help.
These children do a wonderful job supporting everybody at Hemlington Hall Academy!
Children in Key Stage 2 have the opportunity to train as peer mentors who work in the playground to help children feel safe and happy at all times. These children have to set an example to others on the playground in order that other children feel they can help to solve their problems appropriately.
These children always set a good example to others. They always demonstrate the school values and can be relied upon to carry out their duties responsibly and to the best of their abilities at all times. These children do not usually need adult support in order to help children have happy and safe playtimes. They find solutions, make decisions and resolve conflict and will refer to an adult if they feel they cannot resolve a situation.
Challenging Bullying Award
The Peer mentors have worked hard since 2105 and as a result year after year they have been awarded the ‘BIG Award’ in recognition of all their hard work and dedication.

Congratulations to Hemlington Hall Academy on achieving the
BIG Award for Excellence in Challenging Bullying 2024-2025!
