Good morning, your work today has been set out below. If you have any problems, please get in touch via Class Dojo and we will help.

Maths

We are continuing to look at unit and non-unit fractions.

Remember unit fractions always have one as the numerator (the top number).

Non-unit fractions have numerators greater than one.

1/3 is a unit fraction.

2/3 and 3/3 are non-unit fractions.

Model example:

So for the pink circle, I can see that there were four equal parts, so my denominator is going to be 4. There are 3 equal parts shaded, so my numerator is going to be 3. Therefore, the fraction that represents the pink circle is 3/4.

Task

Challenge:

Can you draw the representation for the fraction that is left over?

Reading

Read The Littlest Viking by Sandi Toksvig to page 14.

Can you pick three key/main parts to summarise what you have read so far?

1.

2.

3.

Create a comic strip summarising our story so far.

Writing

Today, I would like you to write your postcard from Pegwell Bay. You may write your postcard to one of your friends, rather than the Y4 class. Please find a blank postcard template below:

PSHE

Today, we are thinking about what a baby needs to grow.

Watch the following video:

Can you draw a picture of a baby and annotate it with the things a baby needs to survive and grow?

If you have a little brother or sister, you might like to think about what they need.
