Hemlington Hall Academy

Year 2 Friday 12th February

Phonics – Live Zoom @ 9:15am

Today we will be having our final spelling test of the half term.

We will complete our spelling test and then have a game of Bingo with a sound we have previously learnt.

Writing

Today you can finish writing your information text all about Kenya, which you started yesterday.

Have a go at using some of the common exception words we have used in our Phonics bingo within different sentences.

Reading

Read the text and answer the inference questions. These questions will need you to think a little bit more carefully about what is said/happening in the text and explain ‘why’.

Maths – Live Zoom @ 10:50am

Today we are working on 10x tables.

We will complete the activities together during our Zoom lesson.

PSHCE

For our final lesson I would like you to think all about what makes you special.

What are your star qualities?

What makes you special?

What are you good at?

Complete the activity identifying your star qualities.

You can also think about what you think the star qualities are of your brothers/sisters/grown ups at home and tell them – this is a sure way to cheer everyone up!

I will post a PowerPoint on Dojo to help you.

You could join us on Zoom at 1.45pm to share your qualities with each other.

Well done for reaching the end of one of the hardest half-terms yet.

You have all been amazing!

Enjoy a well deserved rest!
