Hemlington Hall Academy

Year 2 Thursday 28th January

Phonics – Live Zoom @ 9:15am

Today we are working on contractions again.

We will work through the activities and complete them together on Zoom.

Use your senses planning from yesterday to write a setting description all about your dream beach house.

Does your work contain all of the features within the checklist?

It might start something like this…

When I arrived at the spectacular, amazing beach house I noticed the feel of the tickly, soft sand on my feet. I could smell the salt from the sea and hear the calming, white waves crashing onto the golden sand.

Read the text and answer the attached questions.

Maths – Live Zoom @ 10:50am

Today we are working on addition and subtraction using column methods to solve different problems.

Today you are going to be summarising everything you’ve learnt about Kenya as a country within Africa.

Use the powerpoint posted on Dojo to help you learn some more interesting facts.

Create a poster of a mini fact book to tell us everything you know about the country and continent.

Have a lovely day!
