Hemlington Hall Academy

Year 2 Friday 5th February

Phonics – Live Zoom @ 9:15am

Today we are completing our spelling test. Remember to have practised your spellings beforehand. This week our spellings are contraction words.

Today you have some more time to complete writing your non-fiction text all about yourself.

If you get that finished, complete the English activities on Ed City

You can also use your spelling words in sentences using the handwriting formation we practised on Monday.

Maths – Live Zoom @ 10:50am

Today we are using pictures to create number sentences.

We will complete the activities together during our Zoom lesson.

Today I would like the children to think about things that make them feel calm and relaxed.

They might want to listen to some relaxing music to help them.

Their task is to design their own ‘Dream garden’ – somewhere they would feel happy, peaceful and relaxed.

They could create this using junk modelling or create a picture on some paper.

We will have a Zoom meeting to end the week and share something they’re feeling proud of – this is optional and is simply a little end of the week chat 🙂 If the children choose to join, please speak to them first about what they would like to share – it doesn’t have to be school work, they may have learned how to wash the pots, skip, ride their bike etc, anything is welcome!

Have a lovely day and a relaxing weekend!
