Hemlington Hall Academy

Year 2 Friday 15th January

Good morning. Your work for today is posted below. Our final learning day of the week!

Phonics – Live Zoom @ 9.10am

We will be playing Bingo with the /or/ words you practised reading and writing yesterday.

We will also complete our spelling test with the er/est suffix words that were shared with you on Monday.

Using adverbs in sentences. Complete the wordsearch to find the adverbs.

What sentences can you create using these adverbs?

*You may need to finish writing your story if you didn’t quite get finished yesterday – this is fine!*

Maths – Live Zoom @ 9:50am

Today we are continuing with comparing different amounts of money using < > and =.

We are completing some questions from the first work sheet and will also be completing activity 1 and 2. These can be completed straight onto paper or on your device – I will add it as a worksheet on your portfolio.

Today we are exploring texture again using leaf rubbings. For this activity it would be useful if you could get some leaves from your garden/ daily walk. Make sure the leaves are dry.

You can use the attached sheet, or just use a plain piece of paper.

Place the paper on top of the leaf and colour/rub with crayons over the top. You will see all of the detail begins to show though.

If you don’t have crayons – you can create an observational drawing of your leaf with your pencil/coloured pencil.

Well done for reaching the end of another week learning from home. I am so proud of you all!
