Hemlington Hall Academy

Year 2 Thursday 4th February

Phonics – Live Zoom @ 9:15am

Today we are working on the /al/ and /il/ ending making the /l/ sound.

We will work through the activities and complete them together on Zoom.

Today you are writing your non-fiction text all about yourself.

Remember to use your conjunctions you practised earlier in the week.

You might write ‘My favourite food is pizza because it is delicious’ ‘I love riding my bike so I can fit and healthy’.

Here is an example that you might like to steal some ideas from.

Maths – Live Zoom @ 10:50am

Today we are learning how to use the ‘x’ symbol.

We will complete the activities together during our Zoom lesson.

Read the text carefully then answer the questions. This week the text is all about recycling to fit with your Science work.

Today we are exploring how we can change the properties of something by heating it up or cooling it down.

I will post the Powerpoint on Dojo to help you.

Choose one of the items – chocolate or ice, and explore what happens when you heat it up.

In school we are going to heat up the chocolate and see what happens!

Have a lovely day!
